Internet Computer Developments
- On the Internet Computer, a total of 200,000 canister smart contracts have been deployed. This week, the network was processing at 10,000+ TX/s, demonstrating the incredible ICP developer ecosystem and the Internet Computer’s scalability.
- Canister smart contracts on the Internet Computer can now sign BTC transactions on the Bitcoin main-net, marking a watershed moment for ICP. To commemorate this accomplishment, Dfinity added a Bitcoin page to its ICP dashboard.
- Dfinity shared a cheat sheet to help users identify various buttons on the SNS-1.

- HotorNot app went viral this week with a traffic of more than 12,000 users in a single day. Each user received a canister thanks to the app’s multi-canister architecture, marking a milestone for scalability of apps on the ICP.
- Dmail, a decentralised mailbox on ICP, has exceeded 1 million total email transactions.
- TikTok’s Web 3 alternative, HotorNot is doing a crowdfunding round on 13th December 2022 with CrowdfundNFT marketplace.
- ICLight wallet, is now supporting Metamask login.
- Kybra, a Python CDK for the internet, has transitioned from alpha to beta version. This release brings Kybra’s functionality much closer to Motoko and Rust in capability.
- Helix market, a decentralized exchange (DEX) on the ICP, will be launching their beta soon.
- Decentralised peer to peer betting is coming soon on ICP in the form of Vault bet (a decentralised sports betting exchange).
